Compression stocking, support stocking, thrombosis prophylaxis stocking-what is the difference?

These terms are often used synonymously every day in practice. But these three products differ considerably in their function and their indications.

Medical compression stockings:

- are medical devices that are prescribed by a doctor for the appropriate indication and reimbursed by statutory health insures.

- Area of application: treatment of venous and lymphatic disordes and thrombosis prophylaxis in mobile patients.

- avaible in three (round knit) and four (flat knit) compression classes.

- to guarantee the correct pressure gradient, the compression garment is matched  exacly to the patient's anatomy. These measurements then decide whether the patient is provided with a standar size or with an individually finished made-to-measure product.
